What We Do
We want to teach you, step-by-step, how to fix and flip houses in ANY real estate market. Since 2009, we’ve fixed and flipped over 150 houses in two very different cities. We’ve built successful businesses in Phoenix, Arizona and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It wasn’t easy. We’ve traveled back and forth from our home in Phoenix to Milwaukee over a hundred times….
Our mission at Flipping Phoenix Houses is to provide our readers and students with honest, authentic information and education about fixing and flipping houses in Phoenix.
We are long-time Arizona residents and are committed to fixing up neighborhoods one house at a time, as well as helping our students achieve financial freedom through real estate investing.
Originally from Pasadena, California, Manny Romero moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 2001. Soon after arriving in the valley of the sun he developed an interest in real estate. Home prices in Arizona were much lower compared to his home state of California and he saw a lot of opportunity.
Manny went to the real estate investing school of hard knocks. He had tremendous success from 2004-2007 but when the market crashed he learned some very hard lessons.
His strength is developing relationships with investors and raising capital. He’s also an excellent project manager.
Manny’s passion is mentoring and coaching people that want to learn how to invest in real estate. He’s trained students one-on-one and in the classroom.
He’s married with a son and enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, backpacking, mountain biking and playing golf. Manny loves sports and is a huge L.A. Dodger baseball fan.
Marty started investing in real estate in 2001 after working as a television news cameraman at the CBS affiliate in Phoenix. He quit his job in 2002 and went on to build a $16 million real estate portfolio. But when the market crashed in 2008 he lost it all.
In 2009 he started rebuilding his business by purchasing foreclosed properties at the auction. His strength is finding, analyzing and buying distressed real estate.
Marty wrote Fixing and Flipping Houses: Strategies for the Post Boom Era in 2012, a book detailing his approach to rehabbing and selling single-family homes. He’s a licensed Realtor in Arizona and Wisconsin.
He’s been a contributor to BiggerPockets.com, a popular real estate investment community and was their first podcast guest. Marty’s been featured in articles by the Arizona Republic and AOL Real Estate.
Marty also loves to teach. He’s been an instructor for the Arizona Department of Real Estate and has served as a panelist at the IMN Single Family Investment Forum in Arizona and Florida.
Marty is married with two daughters. In his free time he likes competing in Tough Mudder and Spartan runs. He also enjoys camping with his family and watching college and NFL football.
